POSITION SUMMARY:
Proactively prioritize work flow and daily schedules, and manage all functions of the warehouse.
KEY DUTIES:
- Proactively prioritize work flow and daily schedules, and manage all functions of our warehouse to include (but not limited to): order picking, loading and unloading trucks, quality checking orders, preparing records of shipments and bills of lading, posting transfers, receiving documents, warehouse cleanliness and UPS shipments.
- Audit some inventory control, clerical records and information needed to verify inventory
- Pull, count and verify material out of locations in the warehouse as needed
- Research inventory discrepancies.
- Train distribution team members to assure compliance with all procedures, OSHA safety rules and proper equipment usage/certification
- Utilize Great Plains, Excel, Word and any other required business systems
- Keep all work in process material organized on the floor and insure all tagging is correct according to department procedures
- Maintain company objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other team members to maximize efficiencies
- Organize staff and temporary personnel to accomplish outlined tasks
- Manage and oversee all logistics and carrier relations
- Manage warehouse budget
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations
- Every employee has a responsibility to report employee safety, food safety and/or quality concerns to their Supervisor/Manager immediately upon identification.
POSITION SKILL/COMPETENCY:
- Requires good supervisory, project management, and communication skills
- Familiarity with material and supply handling
- Physical Demands: While performing the regular duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Intermediate understanding and use of Microsoft Word, MS Outlook, MS Access and MS Excel
REQUIRED QUALICATIONS:
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent and/or one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in warehousing, production, or distribution operations
- Forklift and reach truck experience required
